Carbon Living

Carbon living

Our stars are fading
as we are moving
further away from us they part
as quickly from us
as they peal away from each other
indiscriminate
as galaxies
self-contained as the forms and
species
each eddy ray and sunbeam
each particular
each wave
every day on earth we ride
turns away like
sunlight
caught on the face of a sea

we didn't come here
to see
we came here to make the strange
attractors come alive
we didn't come here to sell
but to give ourselves
and the soft parts
of our underbellies
to the fire
to the smallest part of the cave
lost to the tune
the lyre
the lobster pot
and dance in the confines of hell
to touch of beach

and seashell
